JEM1

Planning your wedding day is an incredibly exciting yet very stressful task. There are so many different elements of the day that need to be considered and organised, and keeping on top of everything can be quite difficult sometimes. One of the toughest decisions to make is what to have on your wedding menu. This requires a lot of careful consideration, as you want to provide your guests with delicious high quality food, whilst making the menu personalised and exciting, and also ensuring that everyone’s personal needs and preferred tastes are met.

Here at JEM Catering & Events, we offer personalised and bespoke menus tailored to your individual requirements. Our family run business is passionate about providing a unique service and making your day that extra bit special. So, we thought we would share some of our tips on how to create the perfect wedding menu…

Attention to detail

To us, the most important thing when creating the perfect menu is attention to detail. It is the key to a great dining experience, and this is something that you want to offer on your wedding day. The menu should be completely exclusive to your big day and provide your guests with something to enjoy.

Having a catering team take care of creating the perfect wedding menu allows you to put your focus into other important and exciting elements of the day. Here at JEM Catering & Events, we find out exactly what our clients are looking for and then take care of this completely so that you can plan other things whilst we design and create the perfect wedding menu for you.

Make sure there is something for everyone

Choosing what to have on your wedding menu is tricky sometimes, as you need to ensure that there is something for everyone and that you are catering to the individual needs of your guests. For example, you may have guests with food allergies or specific dietary requirements. All of these things should be noted so that you can incorporate the suitable alternatives within your menu.

Furthermore, it’s not just about dietary requirements, but you need to ensure that there is something for everyone on the menu in terms of appeal. Not everybody that is attending will enjoy the same food or want to eat the same thing. You should have some variety so that everybody is catered for and happy, but whilst also making sure it is something that you and your partner will enjoy.

Personalise it with some theming

Personalisation is so important at weddings. The day is all about you and your partner, and you want this to translate through various aspects of the day. Furthermore, theming is great at weddings. It allows you to be creative and explore different themes you can incorporate throughout the day. You can use your own ideas to experiment and make it memorable and unique. Whether this is as simple as colour schemes, or having seasonal themings in the decor and menu, having a theme will enhance the detail and make the day more exciting.

Choosing a theme can also make the menu more exciting. For example, perhaps you have an autumnal theme. This can be consistent through the menu too, as you can opt for dishes that are warmer and translate a cosy, autumnal theme. There are all kinds of ways you can theme your menu, and it’s a great opportunity to get creative!
